Perched on Danbury Ridge, St John’s is a much-loved local landmark, with its spire visible for miles. Dating back to at least 1233, our Grade I listed church is full of fascinating history, from the famous Knights of Danbury effigies to the carved creatures on every pew.

Everyone is welcome at St John’s! Whether you’re exploring our history, enjoying a moment of peace or joining us for a service, we’d love to welcome you through our doors.

Could you lend a hand?

St John's is run by a wonderful team of volunteers, and there's always room for another pair of hands! Whether you could help serve tea and coffee after a service, welcome people as a sidesperson, do a reading, sing in the choir, ring the bells, help with our monthly church clean or assist with communion, we'd love to hear from you.

If you prefer the great outdoors, why not join our churchyard volunteers, who meet every Wednesday morning to help keep our churchyard looking beautiful?
