Gift Day for St John's Stonework Appeal

On Saturday 15 May 2010 Canon Dr Blyth was in church to receive donations for the Stonework Appeal.  The appeal aims to raise £25,000 for urgent repairs to the crumbling Kentish Ragstone on the outside of our Grade 1 Listed building.

Graham awaits more donations!Graham had a busy morning and a total of £3,540 was received.  With the addition of gift aid this amounts to around £4,500.  Visitors to the church were able to study a display of photos of the damaged stonework, and the church's Fabric Officer, Steve Arthurs, was on hand to answer quesions.

The PCC hopes that some of the funding for the necessary repairs may be provided by conservation charities.  However, a goodly sum must still be raised by the church to ensure that the building is maintained in a good and weather-tight condition for the enjoyment of future generations of Danbury residents.

It's not too late to donate, and Gift Aid can increase your donation without cost to you!  Please contact the Church Treasurer, Michael Green, for further information on 01245 222274.
