St John's Church Choir sings at
Chelmsford Cathedral

On Saturday 30th October 2010 our church choir was invited to sing the service of Evensong in Chelmsford Cathedral.

St John's Choir in the Cathedral

A number of folk from St John's joined the small Cathedral congregation to hear the choir, conducted by Director of Music Christopher Kingsley, in excellent voice and making the most of the wonderful accoustics of the Cathedral.

The Rector, Canon Dr Graham Blyth, read one of the lessons.  St John's organist Paul Hagger played for the service, and his concluding voluntary used both the Cathedral's organs to magnficent effect.  It was a very special experience for St John's and the choir hopes to be invited back again one day!
